Serving Our World
Everybody can be great… because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.
–Dr. Martin L. King, Jr.
As a community of faith, we are propelled into a beautiful, yet broken world as those called to serve and to share, to learn and to teach, to preach and to pray.
For our community, that gets expressed practically as we seek to show compassion to the poor, care for our neighbors – those close by and those farther away, and invite others to follow the simple ways of Jesus.
At Living Hope Church, our feeble efforts at serving our world are, above all, rooted and grounded in love. For us, serving our world is to practice faith, to proclaim hope and to love generously.
Urban education, refugee resettlement, mentoring, community development, feeding the hungry, serving on nonprofit boards, coaching, caring for the elderly, meeting new neighbors, leading the local PTA meeting, raising money for children orphaned by violence and AIDS, raising awareness, praying for God’s Kingdom to Come – any given day you’ll find Living Hope engaged in these kinds of activities in an attempt to embody the value of serving and loving God’s good, yet hurting world.
We’d love for you to join with us.
