Praying and Worshiping in Piperton

Last Wednesday morning, a group of Living Hope students and a few parents gathered in Piperton to pray at different spots throughout the community.  We began at the spot of our future worship and training facility off of Keough Road.  We had an impromptu worship service – maybe the first on this spot where Living Hope will one day gather every week – and then prayer-walked the property.  Next we traveled in a 7 car caravan throughout the community, praying in neighborhoods, at city hall, the fire department, businesses and a local church, where the pastor came out to greet and thank us.  We simply prayed throughout Piperton for the Gospel to go out and for God to do big things for His glory, hopefully using Living Hope as a part of that work.  Lastly, we prayed at the corner of 385 and Poplar (Hwy. 57), asking for two things:

*That 385 would be a pipeline of people, resources and the Gospel of Jesus back into the city of Memphis; that the lost and the poor in Memphis, the rest of the state and the world would be blessed as people go out from Piperton.

*For people from all over the area to come to Christ through Living Hope’s influence, and then take 385 to come join us in community and worship with us on Sundays.

This prayer walk was a great experience for us.  Talk to your small group, family and friends about heading out to Piperton to do the same – we need to cover this area with prayers of saints who are ready for Living Hope to be used in this awesome community.  Let me know if you would like to see the prayer guide that we used.
