Don’t Forget to Pray!
After my sermon in the first service today, I was reminded by a parent at Living Hope about our calling as parents to disciple our children. As we studied Acts this morning, we were reminded of the ways in which the apostles established the church through “gospeling the city” and “strengthening the souls of the disciples” by encouraging them in “the faith” (Acts 14:21-22).
As our youth and children embark on spiritual ventures this week (trailblazers/camp) we must continue to pray for them. As they press into the realities of our city, the truth of the Gospel, and the community God has given them, we pray that their souls would be strengthened as well. Our calling as parents is to raise our children to be faithful disciples of Jesus. It is a tremendous blessing to be a part of a church like Living Hope, with pastors like Greg and Anita, who take their callings seriously; to assist parents in teaching our children the faith. As our youth and children encounter Christ this week, join me in praying that they will “continue in the grace of God” (Acts 13:43).

Got something to say?

Our two boys went to Trailblazers on Monday and Tuesday. I had to pick them up on Tuesday evening,as my father-in-law treated them to a trip to Chicago to visit him leaving today-Wednesday. I think it was pretty cool that they were living out/walking the walk of bringing down walls while I sat in that seminar on racist reconcillation. God is good! They loved their experience at Trailblazers. They embraced every moment they could while they were there. Our youngest actually got emotional because he wanted to skip the trip to Chicago to stay at Trailblazers. God is awesome! Yes, we have been blessed with this opportunity at Trailblazers and with Greg and Anita. They are awesome and our family will never forget how these two individuals have touched us all. They are true examples of loving and sharing the Gospel with everyone.
